What is Fred?

Fred is the AI assistant built into Hexfit. You write to Fred like you would to a colleague, and Fred takes action directly in your account.

Fred offers the same capabilities as our MCP connector for ChatGPT and Claude, with no setup, no integration link and no external account.

💡 Hexfit credits: each request to Fred will use Hexfit credits. For now, Hexfit credits are unlimited: you can use Fred as much as you want.

Open Fred

  1. Click the blue Fred button at the top of the left menu, just below the Hexfit logo.

  2. Fred opens in a new page. Your Hexfit page stays open: you can go back to it to see the changes Fred made.

  3. Type your request in the text box.

  4. Fred replies and carries out the action in your account.

ℹ️ For now, Fred always opens in a new page. If a change made by Fred doesn’t appear in Hexfit, refresh your Hexfit page.

What Fred can do

👥 Clients and groups

  • Find your active clients and groups, with a search by name.

Example:

  • “List my active clients whose name contains Martin.”

🏋️ Training programs

  • View your programs: status, duration, start date and number of sessions. Also your templates and archived programs.

  • View a program in detail: sessions, exercises and sets.

  • Create a program for a client or a group, from scratch or from one of your templates.

  • Edit an existing program.

  • Add, edit or remove a session: name, scheduled days, notes and exercises. A removed session can be restored from the program builder.

  • Publish a draft program: your client sees it and its sessions are added to their calendar.

  • Archive a program or restore an archived program.

Examples:

  • “Create a 4-week program, 3 sessions per week, for Julie Tremblay. Goal: build strength. She has dumbbells and a bench. Keep it as a draft.”

  • “From my Back to training template, create a program for the Fitness 50+ group.”

  • “In Julie’s program, replace the squats with lunges and go to 4 sets.”

  • “Add a 20-minute mobility session on Sunday to Marc’s program.”

  • “Publish Julie’s program.”

  • “Which of Marc’s programs are finished? Archive them.”

🔎 Exercises

  • Search the Hexfit exercise library, more than 13,000 exercises with images.

Example:

  • “Find deadlift variations in the Hexfit library.”

📄 Documents and forms

  • Search your document templates: forms, assessments, headers and footers.

  • View a template: content, structure and fields.

  • Create or edit a template, with fields, conditions and calculation formulas. Your documents can be filled in and printed as PDF.

Examples:

  • “Create an intake questionnaire with the client’s injury history, goals and availability.”

  • “In my initial assessment, add a field that calculates BMI from weight and height.”

  • “If the client answers Yes to Recent injury, show a field to describe it.”

🥗 Food and nutrition

  • Search for foods in the Hexfit library and see their units of measure.

  • View the available nutrition data, such as macronutrients.

  • Create a recipe from foods: Hexfit calculates the nutritional values per serving.

Examples:

  • “Create a protein oatmeal recipe for 2 servings with rolled oats, Greek yogurt, berries and peanut butter.”

  • “Create a high-protein breakfast recipe, around 500 calories.”

📊 Measurements and data

  • Find the measurable data available in Hexfit, such as weight, calories or VO₂ max, with their categories and units.

Example:

  • “What body composition data can I track in Hexfit?”

✅ Activities

  • Mark a scheduled activity as completed, with the date and time.

  • Set a completed activity back to scheduled.

Example:

  • “Mark Julie’s session from yesterday as completed at 6 p.m.”

⚙️ Account settings

  • View your preferences: language, time zone and units of measure.

Example:

  • “Which units of measure are set in my Hexfit account?”

For best results

  • Name the client or group so Fred finds the right file.

  • Give context: goal, level, sessions per week, duration, equipment and contraindications.

  • Keep the program as a draft, check it in Hexfit, then ask Fred to publish it.

  • Ask for adjustments: reply to Fred to fix anything that doesn’t suit you.

  • Ask for the up-to-date list: “What actions can you do in Hexfit?”
