What you can do with the Hexfit MCP (ChatGPT / Claude)

Programs, exercises, nutrition plans, recipes, forms and more: everything ChatGPT, Claude (or another AI) can do in Hexfit, with example requests.

Written by Samuel

Once Hexfit is connected to ChatGPT, Claude (or another AI), your AI assistant can read and update your Hexfit account for you. Here is everything it can do, with example requests you can copy.

What you can do

👥 Clients and groups

  • Find your active clients and groups, with a search by name.

Example:

  • “List my active clients whose name contains Martin.”

🏋️ Training programs

  • See your programs: status, length, start date and number of workouts. Also your templates and archived programs.

  • View a program in detail: workouts, exercises and sets.

  • Create a program for a client or a group, from scratch or from one of your templates.

  • Edit an existing program.

  • Add, edit or remove a workout: name, scheduled days, notes and exercises. A removed workout can be restored from the program builder.

  • Publish a draft program: your client sees it and its workouts are added to their calendar.

  • Archive a program or restore an archived one.

Examples:

  • “Create a 4-week program, 3 workouts a week, for Julie Tremblay. Goal: build strength. She has dumbbells and a bench. Keep it as a draft.”

  • “From my Back to training template, create a program for the Fitness 50+ group.”

  • “In Julie’s program, replace the squats with lunges and go to 4 sets.”

  • “Add a 20-minute mobility workout on Sundays to Marc’s program.”

  • “Publish Julie’s program.”

  • “Which of Marc’s programs are finished? Archive them.”

🔎 Exercises

  • Search the Hexfit exercise library.

Example:

  • “Find deadlift variations in the Hexfit library.”

📄 Documents and forms

  • Search your document templates: forms, assessments, headers and footers.

  • View a template: content, structure and fields.

  • Create or edit a template, with fields, conditions and calculation formulas. Your documents are filled in and printed as PDF.

Examples:

  • “Create an intake questionnaire with the client’s injury history, goals and availability.”

  • “In my initial assessment, add a field that calculates BMI from weight and height.”

  • “If the client answers Yes to Recent injury, show a field to describe it.”

🥗 Foods and recipes

  • Search foods in your own foods, the Hexfit database and external databases, and see their nutrition values and units.

  • Create a custom food when it does not exist, from its nutrition label.

  • Create a recipe from foods: Hexfit calculates the nutrition values per serving.

Examples:

  • “Create a protein oatmeal recipe for 2 servings with rolled oats, Greek yogurt, berries and peanut butter.”

  • “Create a high-protein breakfast recipe, about 500 calories.”

  • “Add my homemade protein bar as a food: 40 g, 180 calories, 15 g protein, 18 g carbs, 6 g fat.”

🍽️ Nutrition plans

  • See the nutrition plans of a client, a group or your templates, and view them in detail: nutrition goals, days, meals, foods and recipes.

  • Create a nutrition plan with its daily goals (calories, macros, micronutrients), its length and its typical days.

  • Edit a plan: add, change or remove days, meals and foods.

  • Publish a draft plan: your client sees it in their app and gets a notification.

Examples:

  • “Create an 8-week nutrition plan for Marc, 2,200 calories and 160 g of protein a day, with 3 typical days. Keep it as a draft.”

  • “In Marc’s plan, replace the day 2 snack with Greek yogurt and almonds.”

  • “Publish Marc’s nutrition plan.”

📊 Measurements and data

  • Find the measurable data available in Hexfit, such as weight, calories or VO₂ max, with their categories and units.

Example:

  • “Which body composition data can I track in Hexfit?”

✅ Activities

  • Mark a planned activity as completed, with the date and time.

  • Set a completed activity back to planned.

Example:

  • “Mark Julie’s workout from yesterday as completed at 6 p.m.”

⚙️ Account settings

  • View your preferences: language, time zone and units of measure.

Example:

  • “Which units of measure are set in my Hexfit account?”

For best results

  • Name the client or group so the assistant finds the right file.

  • Give context: goal, level, number of workouts per week, length, equipment and contraindications.

  • Keep programs and nutrition plans as drafts, review them in Hexfit, then ask to publish them.

  • Ask for the current list: “What actions can you do in Hexfit?”

Connect Hexfit to your AI assistant

The steps for ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini are in How to connect Hexfit to ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini (MCP). You must be an administrator of the Hexfit account to generate the integration link.

Prefer not to set anything up? Fred, Hexfit’s AI assistant, does the same actions directly in Hexfit.

Common issues

I can’t find Hexfit in the list of connectors

That’s normal: Hexfit is not listed in the directory. Use the Add button (Claude) or + → MCP server (ChatGPT) and paste your link.

Connection or authentication error

Check that authentication is set to None, not OAuth.

“Tool not found” or the assistant can’t do an action

Remove the Hexfit connector from your assistant, then connect again with your integration link.

I don’t see the Integrations page

Only an account administrator can generate the integration link. Ask your company’s administrator.
